Review: Marvel’s Spider-Man “Goblin War – Part Four”
Overview (Spoilers Below)
Adrian Toomes has the Goblin Tech and he’s going nuts on the city by controlling all of the tech available and with the Spider-Team unavailable, Spidey looks as though he might be backed into a corner here. The only way to defeat Toomes is if Spidey and Doc Ock use the mind-swap tech that the duo made famous so as to swap minds with Adrian and stop him once and for all.
Spidey heads to the Neuro-Cortex while Hobgoblin distracts the mech that he was the one responsible for building in the first place. The real Doctor Octopus returns and grabs the Cortex and uses it against Adrian’s Goblin Tech. Vulture tries to make the escape, but Spidey grabs him and we learn that Otto Octavius has made the ultimate sacrifice. Otto repays Peter for his kindness with a full-ride back to his tech school of choice.
Our Take
The best part of this entire second season of Marvel’s Spider-Man? Hopefully killing off Scott Menville’s horrid “Doc Ock” character. And I’m not buying this whole Peter Parker crying over Otto’s death and all of the Spider-team doing the same. Moreover, Adrian taking over Stark-tech doesn’t seem plausible to me without SOME sort of Avengers interference. Marvel’s Spider-Man has already been renewed for a third season with a “Maximum Venom” arc…Venom…a character I hold near and dear to my heart. Sony nearly ruined the movie character, but their recent hires for the sequel has me hoping for a more fruitful endeavor. For this Disney XD clusterfuck, I don’t have nearly as much hope. Jeph Loeb leaving Marvel Television will hopefully bring additional quality to the animation department coming sooner, rather than later.
"There are also other characters that come and go (also owned by the Warner Bros. Discovery conglomerate media company)."
Huh. Is that just referring to other characters from the show itself, or is this implying that the new season is going to have cameos from other WBD IPs
