Disney: Conglomerate Makes News With Dual Streaming Services

Disney has multiple streaming services at play with the likes of ESPN+, Hulu, and coming soon Disney+. On a recent earnings call, Bob Iger laid out plans for Hulu and Disney+’s future as it pertains to quick news bits about adult animation.

FX originals will now be part of Hulu the day after they air on the broadcast network, and four other originals will be made as part of the “FX on Hulu” lineup as well. This will presumably replace FX+, and will include original series like Cake, Archer, and other FX originals headed to Hulu to join the likes of Family Guy, American Dad, and a slew of other Disney-acquired content that won’t appear on Disney+. The idea behind this is to keep more adult-skewing fare on Hulu, and then family content on Disney+.

Meanwhile, Disney+ is gearing up for it’s November launch, not just here in the United States, but international as well. Disney+ will launch in Canada, America ($7), and the Netherlands on November 12th with Australia and New Zealand getting the service on Nov 19th(yes, The Simpsons will be available on the Aussie version of the streaming service which will retail for $8.99 on day of launch ).On March 31st, 2020, UK, France, Ireland, Spain, and Germany are next to get the service. It is not yet known if the entire library of episodes of The Simpsons will be made available at launch internationally, just starting Nov 12th here in the United States.
