Blu-Ray Review: Castlevania Season Two

If you’re going to sell a Blu-Ray for a Netflix animated series in 2019, you’re gonna need to have a bunch of stuff on there to justify the purchase price. I do think home media will see increased interest as the competitive nature of streaming services will inevitably see an erosion of subscribers for the largest streaming service in the world, in the case of Castlevania, a solid example of a AAA franchise former subscribers may want to keep track of regardless of which streaming service they keep.

Compared to the show’s first season, Castlevania Season Two on Blu-Ray has way more special features which make the release attractive. Animatics, deleted scenes, and artwork are all way more than what the first Blu-Ray got which helps, though fancier features like maybe episode commentaries, featurettes, and the like would’ve been nice. For under $25 on Amazon, you could do a lot worse.
