Netflix Orders “Heaven’s Forest” Animated Series
From the producers of Castlevania (Powerhouse Animation, Warren Ellis, Adi Shankar, and Kevin Kolde) comes a re-team with Netflix called Heaven’s Forest. An eight-episode animated series that sheds light on ancient Indian mythos.
Heaven’s Forest is set in an Indo-futuristic world, with storyline and characters inspired by the Indian mythology of the Ramayana. The Ramayan is an epic, traditionally ascribed to the Maharshi Valmiki, narrates the life of Rama, the legendary prince of the Kosala Kingdom. It follows his fourteen-year exile to the forest by his father King Dasharatha, on request of his step-mother Kaikeyi. His travels across forests in India with his wife Sita and brother Lakshmana, the kidnapping of his wife by Ravana, the great king of Lanka, resulting in a war with him, and Rama’s eventual return to Ayodhya to be crowned king is the crux of the epic.
Our Take
Powerhouse Animation-produced projects continue to sound/be impressive. With critical acclaim for Castlevania and the company’s recent Seis Manos, the studio looks poised to continue a strong relationship with Netflix.

"There are also other characters that come and go (also owned by the Warner Bros. Discovery conglomerate media company)."
Huh. Is that just referring to other characters from the show itself, or is this implying that the new season is going to have cameos from other WBD IPs
