Review: OK K.O.! Let’s Be Heroes “Dendy’s Video Channel” ; “Let’s Fight to the End” ; “Thank You for Watching the Show”

Overview (Possible Spoilers Below)

“Dendy’s Video Channel”

T.K.O. (who is basically the “Evil Ryu” to K.O’s Ryu) and his recently revealed “father” Shadowy Venomous have become a terrifying duo laying waste to everything as the supporting character Dendy attempts to cheer everyone up to no avail. It’s gotten bad to the point that the original supervillain Lord Boxman is consequently kicked out of Boxmore which results in him abandoning his robot henchmen whom he feels that he can no longer provide for them, resulting in Dendy recruiting them as the Plaza’s new saviors.

“Let’s Fight to the End”

A fighting tournament is announced at the plaza, but there is more at stake than meets the eye, as Venomous and T.K.O. have ulterior & sinister motives. At some point, K.O’s consciousness is stuck and unable to take control of his body while T.K.O., has taken over forcing him to give in to his darker impulses with Rad & Enid having to enter in an effort to stop the two from having their way but find help from an unexpected source… During the proceedings, it reaches levels of meta-commentary about the show itself with an overseer of sorts helping K.O. fix things to a certain extent, but K.O. after finding some personal enlightenment to liberate himself from his dark side realizes how important his existence is.

“Thank You for Watching the Show”

When KO finds moments of his life slipping by, he begins to suspect strange occurrences are going on. eventually figures out what’s really happening, but the twist the twist itself is a metaphor for getting older, leading to a character epilogue that takes up what’s left of the running time, but manages to cram lots of character development, personal growth and substantial changes over the course of three seasons in one episode and ends with a massive and heartfelt “thank you” to the fans.

Our Take

I can respectfully say that the finale embodies all the feelings associated with watching something you love come to an end.
