Review: The Amazing World of Gumball “The Future”

Overview (Spoilers Below)
Darwin and Gumball team up with Banana Joe to find Joe’s mom who is missing. We come to find out she’s been taken hostage by Rob as a sort of revenge against Joe as a result of past kerfuffles. Fortunately, Rob learns the hard way that the paintbrush is mightier than the sword and as such is swiped from existence.
Our Take
Gumball can get really dark when it wants to and that’s certainly the case here. A Stranger Than Fiction-esque tale featuring the show’s craziest villain. Quite honestly, this premise could’ve worked as a half-hour special because the producers could’ve really built up the fact that Banana Joe’s mom was missing and perhaps could have given us longer fight scenes and such. In any event, “The Future” is a fun outing that has a dramatic flair that shouldn’t be ignored.

Huh. Is that just referring to other characters from the show itself, or is this implying that the new season is going to have cameos from other WBD IPs
