Review: We Bare Bears “The Gym”
Time to work out.
Overview (Spoilers Below)
The boys find an abandoned couch on the curb in relatively good condition but lose out on it due to the fact that they couldn’t lift it. The people who DO get the couch own a gym and offer the bears membership but only after they each take part and master their respected classes. Grizz is tasked with mountain climbing, Pan-Pan gets into VR-cycling, and Ice Bear learns Tai-chi with a bunch of grannies. At first, everyone struggles, however, eventually they all get pretty good…too good, in fact, because they end up running into each other at the end. The gym managers are so happy to offer to hire the bears as instructors of their respected classes, but it doesn’t appear that’s gonna happen.
Our Take
We’re seeing more and more of this We Bare Bears trope. Similar to Pig Goat Banana Cricket, the producers have started separating the bears and then bring them together full circle at the end in some sort of silly way. The aforementioned Nick series did the same thing and, for the most part, works, even if you can sort of figure out the formula rather early on. Fortunately, We Bare Bears does a great job of plotting out hilarious courses that journey us through silly obstacles that end up in an entertaining crescendo worthy of a payoff.
"There are also other characters that come and go (also owned by the Warner Bros. Discovery conglomerate media company)."
Huh. Is that just referring to other characters from the show itself, or is this implying that the new season is going to have cameos from other WBD IPs
