RT’s “Gen:Lock” Drops Next Character Reveal Teaser!
I’m already Widowmaker.
Riding the wave of hype surrounding the current of RWBY, Rooster Teeth has released the next, and possibly last, teaser for their upcoming Mecha series, Gen:Lock. Like the last three, this is another scene-let between David Tennant’s Dr. Rufus Weller and Monica Rial’s Col. Raquel Marin about incoming pilots for the titular Gen:Lock program. This time it’s the remaining two unseen characters, Special Ops agent Valentina Romanyszyn (Asia Kate Dillon, “Orange is the New Black”, “Billions”) and Robert Sinclair, (Blaine Gibson, “Camp Camp”, “Day 5”) a member of the Vanguard unit like protagonist Julian Chase.
Although these two seemingly get less focus than the rest of their future teammates as Dr. Weller is under attack from a growing and imminent attack from The Union, who seem to be the enemy faction in the story’s conflict. That attack won’t shake his convictions about these candidates, however, and he even refuses to save himself unless Col. Marin approves of them as pilots, which she relents to. This will lead into the clip from the “First Look” RT posted last month of all the pilots meeting each other. Though it turns out their call has been intercepted, meaning the Union might have all of this new intel themselves now. And just like the last few teasers, this one ends with a look at one of the imposing mecha designs, except this time it’s a Union spider-tank.
We’re closing in on January 26, 2019 release date of Gen:Lock’s first eight-episode season, with RT beginning to drum up anticipation with both this teaser and a redubbed first teaser with Tennant fully taking over the Dr. Weller role from whoever first voiced it. With two months remaining until the premiere, who knows if we’ll be getting another teaser (possibly from the Union’s perspective?) or just a straight up trailer once enough clips are finished enough to show off. Either way, stay tuned for further updates here on Bubbleblabber.
"There are also other characters that come and go (also owned by the Warner Bros. Discovery conglomerate media company)."
Huh. Is that just referring to other characters from the show itself, or is this implying that the new season is going to have cameos from other WBD IPs
