Review: Marvel’s Avengers: Black Panther’s Quest “The Lost Temple”
This one’s lost.
Overview (Spoilers Below)
The Lost Temple is actually in outer space and it houses a crown worth some sort of importance. The Shadow Council shows up for a big fight, but Cap, Zemo, Panther, and Shuri are able to stop them and even convince Madame Masque and Klaw to help out when the space temple nearly crashes into Manhattan city. Fortunately, it hits the water, but now we’ve gotta find this crown.
Our Take
Every Marvel-Disney animated series seems to revolve around one trinket after another. It’s an easy “go-to” I guess for writers who are handcuffed to produce assembly line animated fare like this. It’s a plot device used in numerous iterations of Avengers, Hulk and the Agents of S.M.A.S.H., and Guardians of the Galaxy, all trinkets that hold some sort of power that isn’t ever fully explained. As such, “The Lost Temple” is just another interlude to yet another trinket introduced to a Marvel animated series that already screams of corniness in terms of its execution.
That said, “The Lost Temple” produced quite a bit of fun action sequences that more or less gave us a reunion of sorts with just about all of the bad guys presented this season with the exception of Man-Ape. Yes, the character assassinations of Madame Masque and others are still bothersome, but at this juncture, I’m just trying to find the ray of sunlight that’s gonna get me through the hour-long mid-season finale happening next weekend. The true light at the end of the tunnel is that I won’t have to watch any more of this show after next week for the rest of the year, but it also reminds me that I have a whole ‘nother half a season of this nonsense next year.
"There are also other characters that come and go (also owned by the Warner Bros. Discovery conglomerate media company)."
Huh. Is that just referring to other characters from the show itself, or is this implying that the new season is going to have cameos from other WBD IPs
