Review: Avengers: Black Panther’s Quest “The Zemo Sanction”
Let’s kick this one out with a Z-section.
Overview (Spoilers Below)
This week, we get to catch up with Baron Zemo. After apprehending a Wakandan traitor, we learn that Baron Zemo was part of that list that White Wolf had last week, however, after meeting up with one of the most terrifying Marvel characters of all time, we learn that Baron actually wants nothing to do with the Shadow Council despite the fact that his father once founded the organization. Turns out, both Zemo and now Tiger Shark is looking for those files and as such a mega-battle ensues that sees the files and Zemo tucked away safely while Tiger Shark gets nothing.
Our Take
While the take on the character’s outfit is closer than anything the movies have done up until now, Baron Zemo is pretty much portrayed as a good guy now in what will now be considered one of the biggest Avengers Assemble blunders of the entire franchise’s run. I’m calling it…sorry…it’s official.
Do you kids know who Baron Zemo is? We’re talking about the one time head honcho for the Masters of Evil stable of bad guys and in THIS universe he’s not such a bad dude? Get the fuck outta town with that shit. It’s bad enough the MCU isn’t respecting this character’s legacy, but this one is a thousand times worse. They better save this character with some sort of a betrayal later on, because this just got me mad. Even his outfit looks like just a purple Black Panther outfit! Are we nuts??
Maybe…maybe I should just focus on the fact that this week’s episode featured a halfway decent fight scene, but, *groans* that Baron Zemo depiction is gonna stay with me and probably give me nightmares moving forward.
"There are also other characters that come and go (also owned by the Warner Bros. Discovery conglomerate media company)."
Huh. Is that just referring to other characters from the show itself, or is this implying that the new season is going to have cameos from other WBD IPs
