Review: Bobcat Goldthwait’s Misfits & Monsters “The Buzzkill”
B-e-a-utiful.
Overview (Spoilers Below)
Indie musicians Ben and Leo are transported to a world of bees when a string of events go awry. Whilst making their abode at the honeycomb, the duo land themselves in hot water when one of them makes a pass at the Queen Bee and are sentenced to death. One of them actually gets to hook up with the Queen while the other makes a daring escape that eventually sees the two wake up…or did they?
Our Take
Bobcat takes another stab at animation, though unlike the premiere which saw an animated character in a live-action world, we get a split between an animated and live-action episode. However, this week’s episode is no Bee Movie, in fact, the “Jake and Amir” starring episode has all the makings of an adult animated series pilot in a world of bees. We’ve got all the ingredients, sex, action, and quality voice direction from veteran Tom Kenny who cameos as a turtle. Bobcat Goldthwait’s fingerprints are all over this one, and if I’m someone at TruTV’s cousin network Adult Swim, I’m taking a look at this one for 10 more episodes.
"There are also other characters that come and go (also owned by the Warner Bros. Discovery conglomerate media company)."
Huh. Is that just referring to other characters from the show itself, or is this implying that the new season is going to have cameos from other WBD IPs
