Producer Of “The Simpsons” Catches Background Gaff For “And Maggie Makes Three”…Over Twenty Years Later
Well, this is awkward.
It’s been 23 years since the airing of The Simpsons’ “And Maggie Makes Three” and a lot has happened in that time. We’ve had three Presidents, countless wars, and Taco Bell introducing various Frito-Lay snack induced tacos that would captivate the nation.
In the aforementioned episode of The Simpsons, another important discovery has since come to light…this one from producer Matt Selman (aka my favorite panelist at Comic-Con). The longtime EP has noted a silly gaffe in the aforementioned episode that revolves around the birth of Maggie Simpson. Turns out, there’s a scene that sees Homer and a very pregnant Marge discussing Maggie’s eventual arrival and in the background, there is a very clear picture of the baby that seems to indicate she had already arrived.
Some fans have passed this off as this possibly being an early photo of Lisa Simpson just decked out in baby clothes that would eventually be hand-me-downs for Maggie. Producers Selman and Al Jean have noted…that’s probably a technical oversight. That said, with the technology available at the time in producing animation, one has to wonder how long it would’ve taken to fix that scene. Nowadays, it’s probably minutes, back in ’95?
Fortunately, new episodes of The Simpsons are coming September 30th so we can go ahead and stop reminiscing about older episodes for a while.

"There are also other characters that come and go (also owned by the Warner Bros. Discovery conglomerate media company)."
Huh. Is that just referring to other characters from the show itself, or is this implying that the new season is going to have cameos from other WBD IPs
