Industry News: Stoopid Buddy Stoodios Gets New Animation Head ; FX Boss “Liked” Deadpool

A couple of the week’s industry stories that you need to know. Soon-to-be Disney-owned FX’s John Landgraf has told Deadline that he “liked” the Glover-produced Deadpool series that was canceled earlier this year but said that the Disney-owned Marvel are the ones to blame for the show’s unexpected cancellation earlier this year. Production was underway for the series from Stephen and Donald Glover until reportedly a script featuring gags aimed at Taylor Swift made the princess-heavy Disney empire run for cover in fear of possible retaliation from the biggest pop music star in the world.

Review: Animals “Episode Twenty-One: Rats.”

Overview (Spoilers Below) We pick up three years after the events of Animals Season Two where a bomb was dropped on NYC wiping out humanity in the five boroughs (but somehow sparing New Jersey?) leaving just the animals to thrive. The event is celebrated every year as “Green Day” and as time has gone on our city critters have essentially set up a Game of Thrones like territorial split with the other animals and the premiere does a good job of initial intros for a slew of them including the “grab baggers” (former furry pets), reptiles, cats, and a whole lot more.

Review: Camp Camp “City Survival”

The City of Cityburg! OVERVIEW (SPOILERS) David and Gwen take the kids into the city of…well, the city, to meet with Camp Corp in hopes of securing funding to keep the camp up and running. Max in particular is actually excited to show Neil and Nikki around, so much so that they all sneak off and Gwen has to face the corporate big wigs on her own while David goes searching for the three kids.
