Soon-to-be Disney-owned FX’s John Landgraf has told Deadline that he “liked” the Glover-produced Deadpool series that was canceled earlier this year but said that the Disney-owned Marvel are the ones to blame for the show’s unexpected cancellation earlier this year. Production was underway for the series from Stephen and Donald Glover until reportedly a script featuring gags aimed at Taylor Swift made the princess-heavy Disney empire run for cover in fear of possible retaliation from the biggest pop music star in the world.

Stoopid Buddy Stoodios, the same producers behind such series as Supermansion and Robot Chicken, have appointed Chris Waters as head of animation development. The studio has a slew of projects in development including an animated series adaptation of Adam Ruins Everything along with projects for Hulu, Freeform, and a dozen or so other networks. This movie reaffirms the studio’s development of original intellectual properties for TV networks, digital networks, and social platforms alike, that should keep the studio busy in the years to come.
