Sailor Moon Transformation Sequence

“Sailor Jaune”

Jaune hears a cry for help, but when he dives into a booth to change into costume, he ends up getting stuck inside. Zwei tries to help him, but that ends up rocketing the booth out of the store. At the second cry for help, Jaune attempts a magical girl transformation sequence, but the light ends up accidentally blinding him. The third time, the sequence works, but Winter walks up to him and tells him that the person in question has long left. Jaune asks if she needs help, but when Winter asks him to break a $20, he bails.

“Prank War”

Mercury and Emerald are bored, when Mercury suggests a prank war. Their first victim is Neptune, who they trap in their room by surrounding it with glasses of water. The second is Roman, who ends up with glue in his hat and cane. Third is Yang, whose gauntlet bullets have been replaced with confetti. Last is Cinder, who sees a sign advertising the Winter Maiden, and gets excited- but ends up with a snowman. Mercury dares Emerald to top that, only realizing shortly after that Emerald left a note incriminating him.

Both segments were honestly pretty enjoyable. The first, which ended up being a magical girl parody, both makes fun of Jaune and of the genre. Jaune’s ineffectiveness ends up hurting his cause, but so do the constraints of the genre. The need to transform in secret, and the lengthy transformation sequence involved mean that he’s always late to the scene.

The latter shows Mercury and Emerald just having fun. Although they’re both being ‘evil’ in playing pranks, they’re having a good time, and still are shown to be friends- even if they keep trying to one-up each other. Altogether, fun episode.
