Review: RWBY Chibi “In The Clutches of Evil”
Sailor Moon Transformation Sequence
Spoilers Below:
“In The Clutches of Evil”
Superhero Jaune is captured by Roman and Neo, who have trapped him on a conveyor belt torture device. He claims they won’t get away with it, but before he can do anything, the wall breaks down to reveal Pyrrha in disguise, ready to save Jaune. She easily dispatches the enemies, but Jaune mistakes her for being a villain as well. He says that he will keep an eye on her for sure- which weirdly enough, ended up giving her the attention she wanted from him.
Pyrrha skips around her room, giddy, and Nora remarks that she must have had a good night.
Score:
7/10
“Put It In Reverse”
Ruby is ready to learn how to drive from Taiyang. She acts very confident, like she shows exactly what she’s doing while panicking in the parking lot. When Taiyang suggests that they try out the actual road, Ruby flees. In a flashback, Ruby is revealed to have asked Taiyang because she sees driving as a point of adulthood. Of course, the car ends up completely destroyed.
Score:
6/10
Superhero Jaune isn’t just Sailor Moon, but now he’s classic Batman as well. The comic book sound balloons are something I don’t get tired of. I’m really enjoying these short blend of superhero tropes, and also how Pyrrha is still proving herself no matter what.
The second segment was a little weird, being a narrative completely in reverse, going from the present to the past, and then back to the present again. Likely it would have been more amusing had it been chronological, and still ending with Taiyang’s wrecked car.
"There are also other characters that come and go (also owned by the Warner Bros. Discovery conglomerate media company)."
Huh. Is that just referring to other characters from the show itself, or is this implying that the new season is going to have cameos from other WBD IPs
