English Dub Review: Legend of the Galactic Heroes: Die Neue These”The Castrop Rebellion”

Overview (Spoilers Below)

After setting up a new team, Reinhard sends a fleet headed by Kircheis to end a rebellion by a rude fellow by the name of Castrop. Unfortunately, the guy goes so crazy he gets killed by his own contingent whom willfully surrender. Later, Oberstein meets with Reinhard after letting everyone know about the fall of Iserlohn that causes a few of the admirals to put in their resignation and wants to team up with Reinhard in his quest for universal superiority. Reinhard likes the idea, but on face value, has to decline all the while turning down the other admirals’ resignations.

Our Take

This week’s episode shows essentially all hell breaking loose for the Galactic Empire after the major blow sustained by their loss. Members of the fleet are trying to turn against their own team, and clearly the start of a coup is starting to take hold with Reinhard at the helm, however, it’s fun trying to gauge Oberstein’s TRUE intentions against his own team. Is he truly in this for Reinhard? Or does he have his own ambitions including revenge against Yang and his crew for his latest defeat? Regardless, there is tension all over the heat map of this show and it’s excellent.
