Breaking: Michael B. Jordan to Star in “Gen:Lock”!
Is this your mech? Is THIS your mech?!
With its 15th anniversary celebration in full swing with the currently hiatus’d Nomad of Nowhere and the 16th season of RVB, Rooster Teeth Animation charges ahead with a stunning announcement for its most mysterious but hyped show for this year: Gen:Lock.
Michael B. Jordan, known for his work with director Ryan Coogler on films such as Fruitvale Station, Creed, and the recent Marvel blockbuster Black Panther, will be voicing the show’s protagonist, Julian Chase. Chase will be among the first to pilot an experimental new giant robot of which the show focuses as they protect the last free community on Earth.
Creator Gray G. Haddock has been probably bursting since he received this news himself, hinting at huge announcements for the past few weeks. Rooster Teeth’s been able to bring in voice talent before from TV, video games, and music, but this was very likely unprecedented by many, and Gen:Lock can only benefit from Jordan’s acting chops and star power.
No release date has been set for the sci-fi series’ first season, but we have a feeling we’ll be learning more as we close in on RTX 2018. For now, I’m going to go see if Black Panther’s still in theaters. Find Jordan’s Instagram announcement here, and Gray’s tweet here.
And while you’re freaking out about this news like we are, why not check out our latest reviews of Nomad of Nowhere and Red vs Blue, as well as get ready for our coverage of the upcoming season of Camp Camp on May 25th! Needless to say that Rooster Teeth is kicking off their third quarter decade with full force, and the year can only go up from here as we enter the third annual Summer of Animation! Stay tuned for more news as it comes out!
"There are also other characters that come and go (also owned by the Warner Bros. Discovery conglomerate media company)."
Huh. Is that just referring to other characters from the show itself, or is this implying that the new season is going to have cameos from other WBD IPs
