English Dub Review: Star Blazers: Space Battleship Yamato 2199 “Over the Black Light”

Just don’t use one in my bedroom.

Shinohara scouts a planet called Balun where 10,000 Gamilian ships strong are dealing with issues in upper management. Meanwhile, Okita decides to punch a hole in his adversaries by pretty much ripping the enemy forces a new asshole on his way to the Large Magellanic Cloud.

Our Take

Another week, another epic space battle, and that’s totally fine with me. Okita’s a literal bad ass as he literally took the planet of Belan and rammed it up the corn hole of the Gamilia forces. A MAJOR return happens, but I won’t spoil what it is, but it’s a good one. Quite a few good ones, especially on the Gamilian side of things. And the show continues to be a visual marvel in what could be the best technically produced anime of the year, and it’s a few years old.
