Breaking: FLCL New Season Cast List Revealed!

Breaking out like a robot out of a teenager’s forehead!

After the mind-melting trailers showing off all the awesomeness of the upcoming FLCL seasons, you’d be hard-pressed to find something to top that.

And it wasn’t! But finding out the English voice talent for the dub is still pretty cool.

As you can see, besides sharing Kari Wahlgren between them, there’s plenty of both newbie and veteran voice talent up to the task. For FLCL2, of note in the relatively new section are breakout stars like Robbie Daymond (Spider-Man 2017, A Silent Voice) and Christine Marie Cabanos (Madoka Magica, Kill la Kill), while some surprise reveals include Jason Griffith (Sonic X, One Piece 4Kids Dub) and Steve Kramer (Naruto, Bleach), who played Naota’s grandfather in the dub of the original FLCL series. Meanwhile, FLCL 3 boasts names such as Max Mittleman (One Punch Man, Aldnoah Zero), Patrick Seitz (One Piece, JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure), and STEVE “SPIKE SPIEGEL” BLUM, who also voiced Naota’s friend Masashi in the original’s dub.

Though one last point of interest is Wahlgren’s credit. In FLCL 3, she’s naturally listed as Haruko, short for the iconic Haruhara Haruko whom she will reprise in these new seasons. But in 2, she’s listed as “Haruha Raharu,” something only one character has ever called her. Commander Amarao, someone who was a part of Haruko’s mysterious past. Does Haruko using this name put this second season in a time before the first? Does it have anything to do with Japan switching the order of the releases in their territory?

Well, we don’t have all of the answers yet, but what we do have is assurance this season is in the hands of a stellar cast who know how to make this hype all the sweeter. Check out the official FLCL twitter here.

And as a reminder, FLCL Progressive begins airing June 2, 2018, only on Toonami. Stay tuned for future updates!
