Twelve Writers From “The Simpsons” Who Have Gone on to Run Their Own Shows
Bill Oakley and Josh Weinstein
From 1992-94 Bill Oakley and Josh Weinstein worked collaboratively to scribe 12 episodes of The Simpsons, including the monumental episode “Who Shot Mr. Burns?” In 1999, Oakley and Weinstein created the cult classic animated TV series Mission Hill- originally titled The Downtowners. Unfortunately, the show was doomed to fail from a lack of promotion and was cancelled before the first season was completed. The pair of writers have gone on to create a few more failed pilots but, that does not mean they have not had their fair share of writing credits on many favourite TV shows. Next, the duo will be seen producing the Netflix series, Disenchantment.

There's got to be some kind of twist that's going to happen with this. I don't know if they're setting up an April Fool's joke now or what's going on, but it seems too strange that they'd suddenly reverse on doing a fourth and fifth season after the show was already renewed and they were even just talking about working on those seasons like a couple months ago or something. Or maybe the two episodes yet to release will secretly somehow each be like a "season" in themselves?
