The Guys Who Make “Robot Chicken” Could Be Making Movies With FOX
Wait…now?
Deadline is reporting that Stoopid Buddy Stoodios, the guys behind such stellar fare as SuperMansion, Robot Chicken, and the upcoming Hot Streets, just announced a first-look deal with 20th Century FOX Films that will see the studios produce films for potential wide release.
The article further reports that something called Sword is in the works, but your guess is as good as mine as to whatever the hell that is. Types of projects that Stoopid Buddy could bring to the table include animated (YA!), family (yuck) and hybrids (meh). THR actually adds that these guys are working on pilots for Hulu, Cartoon Network, and Freeform, so these guys are staying busy.
Our Take
Ya, know. For a company that apparently is “days away” from signing a merger deal with either Disney (uh-oh), Comcast (please no), or Sony (much better), FOX is certainly signing up a bunch of contracts including deals with AMC, overseas, and talent deals like this.
"There are also other characters that come and go (also owned by the Warner Bros. Discovery conglomerate media company)."
Huh. Is that just referring to other characters from the show itself, or is this implying that the new season is going to have cameos from other WBD IPs
