“Steven Universe” Gets January 2018 Return Date

Here’s what we know so far.

Cartoon Network has announced that they are kicking off 2018 with two BRAND-NEW episodes of Steven Universe.  Steven Universe: Stranded premieres Friday, Jan. 5 at 7:30 p.m as per a press release, and while not much is known about the episodes as of yet, one of the more surprising points about the premiere schedule is that lately, the network has been releasing the Steven Universe bombs via onDemand and where ever you get CN Digital. The timeslot ALSO tells us that we’re getting a slight reprieve from the Gumball/We Bare Bears blocks that we’ve been getting the last couple of months or so.

When we get more information, we’ll let you know. But, Steven Universe could possibly end up in our vaunted “Top 10 Best Series of 2017” list, so keep checking back for when that posts, it may surprise ya. In the meantime, if you haven’t streamed the episodes yet, Steven Universe has a TV-bomb drop happening starting this Friday.

The Crystal Gems are a team of magical beings who are the self-appointed guardians of the universe. Half-human, half-Gem hero Steven is the “little brother” of the group. The goofball is learning to save the world using the magical powers that come from his bellybutton and he goes on magical adventures with the rest of the Crystal Gems, even though he’s not as powerful — or smart — as fellow group members Garnet, Amethyst and Pearl. Despite his shortcomings, Steven usually finds a surprising way to save the day.
