Review: Tender Touches “Dormitory Floors” ; “Dormitory Floors: Operetta”
A dude made out of rats.
Overview (Spoilers Below)
Just like any good anime, we get a flashback episode with Steve and Curtis in college where we learn all about how we got involved with Charlene. Fast forward to today, we learn that Steve has been kidnapped and replaced with goats which explains the ending to the last episode. We also learn that the birds on the train were supposed to kill Charlene so she comes back and kills the doctor. When Curtis wakes up, he’s sitting in therapy where the psych doctor tries to drown him in a tub of his own tub water.
Our Take
As mentioned, this episode actually comes with it a bunch of classic ideas from the world of anime, whether intentional or not. Everything from flashback scenes, to this whole episode probably being more filler than it was important to the overall Tender Touches arc, used to provide just further explanation of the different storylines that have happened up until this point. Charlene’s voice clearly seems frustrated at this point, so hopefully for all of our sake he can pull out of this ok. From a storytelling perspective, I would’ve left a lot of this until the finale, like a final episode that explains shit. We’ll see how this factors into the finale.
"There are also other characters that come and go (also owned by the Warner Bros. Discovery conglomerate media company)."
Huh. Is that just referring to other characters from the show itself, or is this implying that the new season is going to have cameos from other WBD IPs
