Review: Harvey Beaks “Hug Life; On the Fence”
Harvey’s back! For now…
Overview (Spoilers Below)
Hug Life
Harvey discovers an underground club that features both Fee and Foo among the ranks and is headed up by Blister and his dog Bobo. Harvey wants to join the club but has to pass a slew of initiation tests. At first, Harvey passes everything with flying colors, but the third test he screws up, so he comes up with a plan to unify rival clubs that sees everyone happy and no one gets hurt.
On The Fence
There’s a big fence in the middle of the field, and Harvey wants to paint it anew with Foo and Fee. Unfortunately, Princess Roberts and Dade show up with different ideas of what color the fence should be, with Roberts wanting pink and Dade wanting yellow. To help settle this dispute, Harvey invites everyone to town hall to fully explain everyone’s cases and then put it to a vote. The next day, we find out that the final tallies are a dead heat with one vote left to go which goes to Kratz who opts for green. Harvey tells everyone to go home so he can come up with a solution…which he does. The next day, the Littlebark kids show up to see a half yellow/half pink fence…a compromise in Harvey’s eyes. Well, everyone just flips the fuck out and opt to sling paint at each other rather than talk out their differences. Harvey takes a break, comes back, and convinces everyone that the fence should be all colors.
Our Take
“Hug Life” was ok, but ‘On The Fence” was a lot better. Featuring a funny plot that exhibited some important morals that could very well be posted on walls everywhere in this country in today’s divisive culture that chooses to react rather than to work together to come to a foregone conclusion. Important stuff for the kids to learn about today and dripping with the lovely charm that Harvey delivers us on a usually consistent basis. Don’t ask me why this show is ending, I’m still stumped.
"There are also other characters that come and go (also owned by the Warner Bros. Discovery conglomerate media company)."
Huh. Is that just referring to other characters from the show itself, or is this implying that the new season is going to have cameos from other WBD IPs
