English Dub Review: Star Blazers “The Inescapable Trap”
It’s a Trap!
Overview (Spoilers Below)
On their way out of our solar system, the Yamato comes up with a fucking stupid idea to try a surprise attack on the Gamilan facilities on Pluto. The Gamilan forces clearly knew the Yamato was coming, so they blow the ship out of the sky and the Yamato crew has to now shut down the base that has essentially a Starkiller-esque weapon. GOOD LUCK!
Our Take
This episode was great because it’s not every day you see silly ideas in space anime that you know are going to go horribly wrong, and of course, they do, but for some reason, Star Blazers has me eagerly anticipating next week’s episode because who the hell knows what’s gonna happen now. The Yamato appears decimated, drilled underneath Pluto, and it’s cold there.
