English Dub Review: A Sister’s All You Need “Nudity and Underwear Are All You Need”
You know, the underwear vs. nudity debate is long overdue.
Overview (Spoilers Below)
Itsuki gets to see a draft of his lusty fantasy manga, Maho Academy, but is aghast when he sees the manga artist hasn’t drawn his characters completely nude because the artist has an underwear fetish. Itsuki, not to let such a sin against his work slide, confronts the artist, Kaiko Mikuniyama, face to face.
Kaiko professes her love for underwear and challenges Itsuki’s notion that little sisters in his perverted story should always be nude. The two get into a true battle of the minds, debating which is better: naked little sisters or little sisters in sexy underwear. Tempers rise, and little is resolved, but Kenjiro tries to make peace between the two. Setsuna wanders into the situation and takes Itsuki’s side, which doesn’t help the debate.
Itsuki is conflicted; he likes Kaiko’s art style, but their philosophical differences keep getting in the way. Setsuna tries to stop the issue by declaring that he’ll take the Maho Academy manga into his own hands. This prompts the two to engage in an artist’s face off to see who gets to draw the manga.
The two’s battle is about to begin, but Kaiko surprises them all by untwisting the bow on her head, revealing that they were, in fact, a pair of panties this whole time. She dons the panties like a mask, a formal uniform that ups her power level. The two each draw their own rendition of the manga.
The judges review the manga, and though the initially are in love with Setsuna’s quality nudes, Kaiko’s ability to tell a story with her artwork ultimately wins the day. They unanimously vote in favor of Kaiko doing the artwork, with Itsuki realizing the importance of good storytelling over mere lusty nude pictures.
Later that night, Itsuki tells Nayuta about his new devotion to underwear over nudes. Nayuta is shocked, and fears that Itsuki is being drawn down the wrong path. She confronts Kaiko with Miyako in tow and declares another challenge against Kaiko to see if nudes are better than underwear pics. Nayuta, who isn’t an even artist, gets decimated, but she insists that no matter how good Kaiko is, she has no right to cover up good nudity.
In desperation, Nayuta reveals she loves nudity over underwear because she’s nude most of the time at home, and dreams of Itsuki being constantly seduced by her relentless nude form. Against the power of Kaiko’s good art, Nayuta decides to show Kaiko the true joy of nudity by stripping down and showing her the best way she can; hands on. She tries to seduce Kaiko with her nudity rather…aggressively. What follows is one part shounen battle, two parts softcore porn, but it ends with Kaiko realizing that nudity isn’t so bad and that she is now ready to draw Maho Academy with both underwear and nudity present.
The episode wraps up as Itsuki sees Kaiko’s new draft of the manga with both nudity and underwear present, and realizes that it never been better.
Our Take:
I’m not entirely sure how to review an episode like this. I would be remiss if I didn’t point out that a good four minutes of this episode is basically just softcore erotica of two nude girls in the lesbian embrace. That being said, as an episode it is pretty funny, and actually works in its own weird way in terms of character growth and expectations of the series thus far. At this point in the series, perverted stuff shouldn’t be a turn off to anyone still watching, so it really just supplements a pretty good episode of a cute comedy series.
"There are also other characters that come and go (also owned by the Warner Bros. Discovery conglomerate media company)."
Huh. Is that just referring to other characters from the show itself, or is this implying that the new season is going to have cameos from other WBD IPs
