Review: The Loud House “Tricked”
Tricks are for kids!
Overview (Spoilers Below)
Lincoln and Clyde know of a bad ass street that gives out the big ol’ candy bars but decides to tell no one else about it including the rest of the “house” and these two bullies they meet on the way. The guys do really well in terms of their haul but return to see their streets are in ruins as a result of the two bullies and decide to exact revenge by going to visit the duo in their stupid treehouse and get back the candy they stole from the neighborhood. Unfortunately, Lincoln and Clyde get the shit beat out of them but return with a plan.
Meanwhile, Lucy is putting together an elaborate scary maze with Lori, Leni, Luna, Luan, Lynn, and Rita as parts of the horror attraction while Lynn Sr. reluctantly escorts Lola, Lana, Lisa, and Lily on a trick or treat run that sorta turns into a competition, but really it was all for nothing because I had mentioned earlier, everyone’s candy got stolen.
Lincoln and Clyde return with the bullies chasing after them and bring the two through Lucy’s nightmare and decide to redistribute the candy they got earlier to the rest of the kids that got theirs taken away.
Our Take
While the “Tricked” song was kinda sucky, the video montage that went along with it was excellent and truly indicative of the type of stuff that you’d see in throwback Scooby-Doo and such. The overall premise was solid, and I think special shout-outs are in due order for Jessica DiCicco. I think this show will definitely do for her what Futurama did for Billy West because she does an outstanding job voicing all those girls which can be no easy task. Her take on Lucy is probably my favorite, and I definitely recommend for fans of Tara Strong’s take on “Raven” on Teen Titans or perhaps the “Goths” on South Park because Jessica could literally insert herself into those shows and I wouldn’t even know until the end credits. The aforementioned soundtrack to the maze kinda ruined the climax, but overall a solid episode.
SCORE
"There are also other characters that come and go (also owned by the Warner Bros. Discovery conglomerate media company)."
Huh. Is that just referring to other characters from the show itself, or is this implying that the new season is going to have cameos from other WBD IPs
