English Dub Review: New Game “It’s Gonna Really Break the Immersion”
Is the experience immersive?
Overview (Spoilers Below)
This week’s episode sees two teams working out the bugs of their respective mini-games, the art team is working on troubleshooting a hide and seek mini game whereas Nene over in programming is working on a different mini-game altogether. Both sides appear to be making a lot of progress aside from slight delays from taking risky chances in their respective work, but management appears to be happy (and in some cases, complicit), so all seems to be moving forward. That said, Ko is starting to show signs of her eventual decision in regards to her future with Eagle Jump.
Our Take
While the majority of the episode is standard, the dramatic foreshadowing on Ko’s future is starting to up the ante in the category of “compelling television”. That said, Ko’s scene where she’s giving a present to Rin is odd because her character design’s face was produced so awkwardly that it almost looked like Ko was giving off a stink-eye which sort of ruined the moment for me. The shadowing in that same scene was breathtakingly gorgeous, and with all of the added game footage, we got a nice change of pace from the rather standard variety production aesthetic that sort of blends into a number of the other “slice of life” series in the genre.
"There are also other characters that come and go (also owned by the Warner Bros. Discovery conglomerate media company)."
Huh. Is that just referring to other characters from the show itself, or is this implying that the new season is going to have cameos from other WBD IPs
