English Dub Review: Lastman “You’re A Cutie, Aldana”

Something takes my pain away.

Overview (Spoilers Below)

Aldana is now in jail, but he may be able to get out thanks to helping out a prior acquaintance who may have the means of springing the release in exchange for some social media publicity and to work with Milo on getting through the next fight which takes place in the prison. Unfortunately, Richard’s gonna have to find a way to survive first because, after a run-in with the crazed guards, he’s not looking too good. Meanwhile, Siri is in foster care and although the family is nice, shit goes down after she loses her meds.

Our Take

Another great episode. This week we see a fucking NUTS action sequence at the end and are dealt with two compelling arcs that are starting to make this series “must see”. I couldn’t help but love the soundtrack again this week, almost sounding like shades of Nine Inch Nails that fits perfectly with the scenes exhibiting strong shadow sequences. A lot gets setup here, however, I would’ve liked to have seen if the county is putting a case on Richard as of yet or if the cops were continuing to investigate the murder scenes for clues. One could make the argument that this series could easily have 22-minute episodes to help build out a more Law & Order dynamic over top of what Richard and Siri are going through, but Lastman is still showing strong muscles for VRV/Mondo.
