English Dub Review: Lastman “Did We Have An Appointment?”
Sure did.
Overview (Spoilers Below)
Richard and Siri head into a dark and spooky office for a psychiatrist whom they find…kinda. Turns out, this guy is some sort of an arachnid that captures his patients and puts them in comatose states where they have lucid dreams of happiness while the gross creature has at the patients’ brains. Both Siri and Richard are put into dreams that make it seem like they would be much happier than where they are right now in their real lives, for Richard, it’s a fantasy sequence where he protects the town as a superhero while the ladies fawn over him and for Siri it’s being with her dad again. Fortunately, Howard is able to save the two before the crazy arachnid was able to finish his weaving of his mind webs.
Our Take
Even though the episode description on VRV at the time of this writing appears to be pertaining to the next episode as opposed to this one, “Did We Have An Appointment” did a great job of weaving a tale that may have helped you forget that it was merely a filler episode with episode 11 looking like it’s gonna be the one that puts the series back into motion when it comes to Siri and saving her from all who are trying to get her. In any event, the dream sequences were sheer excellence in execution, very reminiscent of the crazy shit worlds that Scarecrow used to send Batman through during the Batman: The Animated Series days. We got some killer monster character designs this week to already add to the rather eclectic designs we’ve been getting thus far from Lastman, and while we may not have gotten much of the definitive plot of the Lastman prequel, I still had fun watching Richard and Siri both getting head-fucked for our amusement.
"There are also other characters that come and go (also owned by the Warner Bros. Discovery conglomerate media company)."
Huh. Is that just referring to other characters from the show itself, or is this implying that the new season is going to have cameos from other WBD IPs
