English Dub Review: Gamers! “Gamers and Billing System Talk”
We’re sorry the story has left the building, time for a discussion on video game economics.
Gamers has been flying its gamer lifestyle and knowledge with great pride since the pilot. Even in the Gamers opening theme, the visuals of the various games show a more in-depth knowledge of video games incorporating more obscure game titles. We even had Keita act as the perfect awkward Gamer, spouting some rather hokey dialogue about how he looks at games in the godliest of light.
OVERVIEW (Spoilers Below)
Today’s episode just focuses in on a wide array of video game debates. An essential aspect to portraying gaming culture and it’s our 4 gamers, Keita, Chiaki, Karen, and Uehara, versus the realist non-gamer, Aguri, who are questioning many of the unclear aspects of purchasing video games and the reason behind it. Plus, a crowbar in a scene of asses talking… Yay?
I feel that the discussion aspects of the episode are well done. Allowing for great character interaction and dynamic while exhibiting an interesting debate on the various purchasing platforms in gaming. Plus, it is just a cute set up of the gamers just going on a little spa retreat to have fun playing some games. Nothing major being plotted or anything. Just the gamers simply wanting to play and discuss games and these just happen to be the talks they get into. That is just simply brilliant. Although I will admit Gamers finally delved into the tasteless category with some of its animation saving measures. Case in point the ass talking scene. No context will be given. Just watch the episode for yourself to find out.
OUR TAKE
This is a really heavy tangent away from the proper show though. Nothing about this episode makes it very crucial to the overall story of the anime. However, despite the jarring use of ass to get across some of the dialogue I can’t say this is a bad episode. This is because of what Gamers is. A truly fateful series to actual gamers, an in-depth discussion episode on gaming really highlights how these 5 kids represent the strongest archetypes of the gaming genre. As an episode, it is unnecessary but as a discussion and character piece, it is a superb episode.
"There are also other characters that come and go (also owned by the Warner Bros. Discovery conglomerate media company)."
Huh. Is that just referring to other characters from the show itself, or is this implying that the new season is going to have cameos from other WBD IPs
