Review: The Amazing World Of Gumball “The Best”
Find out if this week’s episode is really “The Best”.
Overview (Possible Spoilers Below)
The episode starts out with Gumball feeling awkward and personally attacked by the frequent chastising of Carmen the cactus for every little thing and being told off for it. However, it starts to reach a boiling point when Gumball decides to take extreme measures such as “downloading his brain to “Ramblr” (An obvious parody of Tumblr) in an attempt to use her own words against her and later attempts to expose her particularly unpleasant past from her previous school to their current one.
While Carmen’s chastising seems well-intentioned, a lot of us can relate to Gumball more in this episode because we all know a person in our life who annoys the shit out of us with a well-intentioned yet sanctimonious know-it-all attitude but I legitimately laughed at the SJW jokes in this and Carmen’s response to them points out everything that’s wrong with the misuse of SJW lingo when it’s used to feel superior in petty arguments instead of pointing out a problem in the world. The episode eventually finds its resolution with an ironic & comedic twist that will leave you smiling.
Our Take
I had a good laugh with this one. The humor works with a relatable scenario and gets the point across when it handles the SJW jokes in such a way that you find yourself laughing at the sheer absurdity of them. I’m sure small children won’t understand the jokes so I think this episode would cater more to teens & adults since realistically, we usually never hear about grade schoolers obnoxiously telling their peers to “Check their privilege”.
"There are also other characters that come and go (also owned by the Warner Bros. Discovery conglomerate media company)."
Huh. Is that just referring to other characters from the show itself, or is this implying that the new season is going to have cameos from other WBD IPs
