English Dub Review: New Game! “Hey! Don’t Touch Me There!”
Show me on the cat where they touched you.
Overview (Spoilers Below)
Back to work, this week we see Hifume instilling her leadership as the new team leader which causes ripple effects to the other team members, most notably Yun and Aoba both of whom were a tad behind on schedule with their characters. Hajime is trying to come up with underwater gameplay mechanics that will impress Shizuku who is looking for ingenuity in a game trope that has largely unchanged in decades. Later, Aoba and Nene go to the hot springs where they meet up with an old high school friend named Hotaru.
Our Take
We got a little more meat on the bones this week in terms of plot with the girls having varying levels of issues with working under the management restructure and dealing with the pressures of producing a franchise that distances itself from Eagle Jump’s prior successes. Yes, the hot tub scene gets a bit steamy, but quite frankly we need a scene like this to kind of make the show not so monotonous in terms of setting, plot, and the same ol’ characters week in and week out.
"There are also other characters that come and go (also owned by the Warner Bros. Discovery conglomerate media company)."
Huh. Is that just referring to other characters from the show itself, or is this implying that the new season is going to have cameos from other WBD IPs
