English Dub Review: Lastman “You Speak Like a Man of Honor”

This week, we get a babysitting mission.

The latest episode of Lastman sees Richard having to play bodyguard for a mafia underling named Kaiser who is more of a pest than what Richard has time for. Kaiser constantly gets into it with other guys at an art gallery and nearly gets taken out by the rival mob had it not been for Richard’s “compromise”.

Meanwhile, Howard, Siri, and Chubs get locked in Dave’s basement that becomes a ticking time bomb with no escape. Fortunately, Howard and Chubs are able to come up with a code that disarms the bomb and sets them on their new objective.

Our Take

Not a whole lot of traction dealing with Siri and her battles against the cult this week, but some interesting continuing of story arcs. For starters, Richard had a run-in with a familiar face and we even had some returns while in the basement of both Max and Chubs, neither of whom we had seen the past few episodes. That said, I’m hoping we can start to put to rest the errands that Richard’s gotta run for the mob because I think that arc has run its course, even if it does mean that Richard gets to put a-hurtin’ on dudes. The far more compelling plot was by far Siri and the crew disarming a bomb in the basement. I’d like to get this show on the road in terms of the progression of Siri’s abilities because that’s when the show really showcases its production qualities of which there are a lot of good ones.
