Spoilers Below:

A tornado sucks the balloon into a faraway land, where they need to fix their balloons. The Wacky Wizard of the West appears and tells them to seek help from the Wizard of Ooze. Marceline manages to steal a sewing kit from the wizard, and Finn goes off to the woods to go fight something. He angers a swarm of monkey flies, and Finn goes to fight them off. Stanley frowns on Marceline’s casual use of magic, citing the rules, and saying that they have to be followed.

They enter the Dragooon Kingdom, and Finn offers to fight a dragon. The dragon isn’t interested and only says that they don’t pull any tricks. They find a complex, but Marceline trips Finn and Jake before they enter. The girls go inside and find the statue. Taking it triggers some traps, and they have to escape. Outside, Finn is furious that he missed an adventure, and decides to leave without the girls. The girls realize that Finn sabotaged their balloon, and get left behind. Bubblegum has an idea, and the three of them talk loudly about how much they want to party, and summon the Party God.

Overview:

Wizard of Oz and Indiana Jones references galore.

All of the references were a lot of fun, but somehow the story seems somewhat lackluster. Finn is action-based and at times too trusting, but this time he’s way too impulsive. They seem to imply that he’s going stir-crazy from lack of adventures, but it hasn’t been long at all since the first complex. He comes off as extremely impulsive and ends up just causing trouble, which doesn’t seem like Finn.

The references carry this issue, and hopefully, things will shape up next time, because things were rather shaky this time around.
