SDCC2017: “Happy!’ Swaps Moynihan For Oswalt For Voice Of Titular Character
Well, alright then.
Syfy series has tapped Patton Oswalt in the role of the titular character in Syfy’s 2018 comic adaptation known as Happy! in place of Bobby Moynihan who held the same position for the show’s pilot.
Happy! is based on New York Times best-selling author Grant Morrison and Darick Robertson’s graphic novel of the same name. The series follows Nick Sax (Christopher Meloni, Law & Order: SVU) – an intoxicated, corrupt ex-cop turned hit man – who is adrift in a world of casual murder, soulless sex and betrayal. After a hit gone wrong, his inebriated life is forever changed by a tiny, relentlessly positive, imaginary blue winged horse named Happy.
Our Take
This is a pretty shocking development and comes a few days after Happy! named its villain. In any case, Patton Oswalt’s a reliable voice having done numerous guest appearances on The Simpsons, Futurama, and a slew of other animated TV shows.
"There are also other characters that come and go (also owned by the Warner Bros. Discovery conglomerate media company)."
Huh. Is that just referring to other characters from the show itself, or is this implying that the new season is going to have cameos from other WBD IPs
