Review: The Fairly OddParents “The Hungry Games/Summer Bummer”

Who wouldn’t want a trip to French fry mountain?

Spoilers Below

“The Hungry Games”

Chloe wishes for everything to be a reflection of her favorite movie “The Hungry Games” in that the town has no food and is super hungry and pretty much goes insane. Crocker takes the last of the food and with Chloe’s weapon dysfunctioning, there’s no stopping him from more or less becoming an evil Overlord. Eventually, Chloe and co. leads a team that goes after Crocker and saves everyone from starvation JUST as the wish ends. As a reward for his help, Chloe treats everyone to a trip to French fry mountain.

“Summer Bummer”

On the first day of summer, Chloe ends up sleep wishing due to being exhausted from studying too much. One of her wishes is a giant baby that can’t be unwished and is now terrorizing the downtown area. This causes everyone else to go inside of Chloe’s brain and fix what’s wrong leading her to wake up and fix everything. Chloe decides to have more fun and study less and therefore enjoy her summer with her pals.

Our Take

Not a bad week of episodes. Summer is here so it makes perfect sense to give us something that adheres to that and despite the fact that we’ve had a decent number of Hunger Games jokes and parodies over the years I quite enjoyed “The Hungry Games” despite the fact that I haven’t seen the aforementioned movies. Nothing truly groundbreaking this week but some solid output.
