Kenka Bancho Otome -Girl Beats Boys concludes with an epic finale. It picks up with the battle royale from the previous episode. Hikaru and friends wipe the floor with their challenges. It’s pleasant witnessing the camaraderie which blossomed out of the fights, and how former opponents became such tight-knit friends.
What really surprised me was the conclusion, where Hikaru explains that she plans to stay at Shishiku and continue the charade as a boy. I hope this suggests a continuation and second season for Girl Beats Boys.
Despite its short run time and pretty predictable plot, this is a fun anime series. It’s clear, concise, and features a cast of enjoyable characters. The music in “Taking on all comers!” is a bit overbearing at times, but thankfully the metal riffs aren’t terrible. Ultimately, it’s a fitting end to the show, balancing inspirational elements and endearing qualities.
