Pharrell Williams ‘Yellow Light’ from ‘Despicable Me 3’ Original Motion Picture Soundtrack video debut
Pharrell Williams is a legend. As a member of the renowned Neptunes, Williams contributed to spawning a recognizable production style. Moreover, Williams experimented with a variety of genres from hip-hop to the rock-tinged N*E*R*D., and electronica.
In 2014, Pharrell received a Best Original Song Academy Award nomination for his song “Happy,” featured in Despicable Me 2. In 2016, Williams served as one of the producers for the Hidden Figures soundtrack. For 2017, Williams returns to the movie soundtrack scene and more specifically the Despicable Me universe with his video “Yellow Light” from the forthcoming Despicable Me 3.
The song features a distinctly electronic Neptunes-style and Pharrell’s crooning. It sounds slightly autotune-tinged. Like “Happy,” it’s an upbeat track. Visually, “Yellow Light” features Minions dancing around with pixelated elements which appear plucked from 8-bit video games such as Pac-Man or Donkey Kong. It’s a catchy song which begs for the repeat button. If “Yellow Light” is any indication of the rest of the soundtrack, this promises to a stellar soundtrack equally as entertaining if not more, than the film.
"There are also other characters that come and go (also owned by the Warner Bros. Discovery conglomerate media company)."
Huh. Is that just referring to other characters from the show itself, or is this implying that the new season is going to have cameos from other WBD IPs
