English Dub Review: Attack on Titan “Opening”
No real fights this week, but an interesting interstitial none-the-less.
Spoilers Below
Everyone’s really hurt after a long ass battle, so Ymir’s assistant Moblit decides to go see about a captured Titan that can’t walk leaving her and Eren in the Forest of the Giant Trees eventually surrounded by Titans. Eren wants to shift, but he doesn’t. Reiner and Bertholdt convince the two that maybe THEY aren’t the enemies and that an Ape-like Titan may be the real issue. Reiner’s kind of a dick though due to the fact that he probably knows that Eren wants to just shift and go nuts, so he eggs on Ymir to kind of trust him just as flares go off and scouts make it known that they are on the way.
Our Take
This week’s episode was more of a chess match in terms of psyches and while there wasn’t a ton of action there was a ton of suspense. I really was just waiting for Eren to go nuts, but I guess this week they decided to hold off. A bit of a filler episode maybe with your arbitrary flashbacks, but I can’t help but note just how pretty this show looks even when it’s all calmed down. The forest looks straight out of Lord of the Rings which is good because, with a bunch of talky-talk, it’s ok to gander. The show’s about to go nuts, unfortunately, we’ll have to wait until July 8th to see what happens next!
"There are also other characters that come and go (also owned by the Warner Bros. Discovery conglomerate media company)."
Huh. Is that just referring to other characters from the show itself, or is this implying that the new season is going to have cameos from other WBD IPs
