“Director Ozpin”

The main four girls strike the pose for their logo, but the logo comes apart, and the girls all fall for each other.

Oz calls a cut and comes onto the set, expressing his disappointment. The girls begin to bicker, and he tells them to calm down. Ruby starts to worry that maybe it wasn’t an accident and that they could have been sabotaged. Oz thinks about this for a moment and says that’s only possible if someone could have done this.

A microphone hits Ruby on the head, held by Mercury, and Blake pushes Yang out of the way of a falling stage light, implied to have been loosed by Emerald. Oz laughs Ruby off and tells them to go play in a forest. As he tries to walk away, Cinder pushes the logo on him.

6/10

“UFO”

Nora, Jaune, and Pyrrha are playing with a set of farm-themed toys, and Pyrrha is manipulating one of her shields over the set like a UFO. She sneezes, and the shield goes flying, destroying the set. As she apologizes, Nora starts crying.

3/10

“Dodgeball”

Penny thanks Ruby for allowing her to join a game of volleyball. Ruby reminds Penny that everyone playing is a friend, and Penny says she will adjust her targeting parameters. Neptune finds her suspicious, but Ruby laughs it off. Sun isn’t convinced. Jaune picks Penny for their team, and the two teams face off.

Sun tells Penny not to get in the way, but Jaune is much nicer to her. He says it’s okay if she doesn’t manage to hit anyone on her first try, but Penny activates her targeting and quickly throws the ball. In an instant, she takes out Ruby, Nora, Yang, and Zwei, as the boys stare in amazement.

Yang throws the ball back in retaliation, and the shot knocks off Penny’s head. She merely acts surprised, but the boys freak out and go running. Neptune reiterates that Penny is definitely suspicious.

4/10

Chibi series tend to be more general, or cuter than their original counterparts, and RWBY Chibi falls into that category. Unfortunately, Dodgeball and UFO seemed to make the characters too general and dulled things down.

On the other hand, Director Oz is a parody of the main series, specifically of Emerald and Mercury’s infiltration, and how Oz never noticed, despite being supposedly all-knowing. It’s a short and fun way to laugh at the happenings of canon.
