Did we miss Family Guy?
Spoilers Below
This week’s new Family Guy definitely grew on me– there was some insanely funny laugh out loud spots, but also some cutaway that I feel failed pretty badly.
In “The Peter Principal”, Peter volunteers to be the temporary principal of Meg’s school (with no education or training) and he ends up disciplining some of the more troublesome students in some kind of disturbing ways.
Meanwhile, Brian is trying to write, and Stewie convinces him to start a bed and breakfast. So the dog and the baby get a house and start doing just that. I can’t stand Brian. He’s the absolute worst character on the show in my opinion. But when they pair him with Stewie, and he’s a foil, it works okay sometimes.
Peter, of course, starts going too far in the principal gig. Meg starts using him to combat her bullies. And Brian and Stewie’s bed and breakfast end up turning into more of a brothel. There are some amazing spots in this episode. Mostly physical comedy– Peter keeps falling and getting hurt, a funny musical number, etc.
There were several cutaways that were weird or failed- at least one I totally didn’t get. But “The Peter Principal” redeemed itself, I feel like, by the end. Hilarious conclusion to the Brian/Stewie story, and an obvious satisfying end to Peter’s reign of educational terror. All in all, a decent episode near the end of this Family Guy season.
An avid watcher of cartoons since being hooked by Looney Tunes and Woody Woodpecker reruns in the 1980s.
"There are also other characters that come and go (also owned by the Warner Bros. Discovery conglomerate media company)."
Huh. Is that just referring to other characters from the show itself, or is this implying that the new season is going to have cameos from other WBD IPs
