This week, we get to learn more about the upbringings of Jean, Nico, and Lotta. We learn that Jean and Lotta’s mother was a Princess that died in the train accident we heard about episodes earlier. Nico breaks it to Jean that he is in fact not the heir to the throne, and that Nico is like 10 years older than him and although the two were in high school, Nico was 25 at the time.

Our Take

This week’s episode fills a bunch of background holes for all parties, but really at the end of the day, Jean doesn’t give a shit. Quite honestly, he’s one of the worst protagonists of a series I’ve ever seen. Ancillary characters are begging him every which way to be a part of the overall plot, and he’s not budging. Don’t worry, though, this week you still get a heaping helping of food porn that should assuage ANY worries, right?
