English Dub Review: Koro Sensei Quest “The Evolved Mage”

E-Class gets a new student, a powerful mage that threatens to be the one that can actually take down the Big Bad. Problem is, the new girl isn’t exactly fitting in with her new colleagues, but she’s hella strong with combo spells that can clear caves in seconds. Now going by the name Ritsu, the moody bitch is doing everything herself but isn’t letting anyone share in the XP which is important because Bad wants everyone to level up after completing their newest quest.

Ritsu tries fighting Big Bad, but it appears her confidence was a bit too much so. The kids come across a level 19 stone kunudon and defeat it rather easily. The next day, Ritsu shows up and is acting like a WAY better team player thanks to a little hack put together by our fearless leader.

Our Take

Just when you think Big Bad has met his match, it’s not even close. I love how computer languages and ancient languages are mixed this time around as well. Unfortunately, this show has done better battles, and most of the episode revolved around a bunch of complaining about Ritsu. Moving forward, this may be fixed, but I wish we could’ve seen more of her spells.
