Review: Koro Sensei Quest! “The E Class and the Big Bad”
The Big Bad is back and badder than ever!
Spoilers Below
The debut episode of Koro Sensei Quest introduces us to Chibi versions of elite group assassins taking part in what is called an “E-Class”. Their purpose is to learn sorcery and swordsmanship from their new teacher…The Big Bad. We learn that the Demon King has an arrangement with the government whereby as long as he trains the class well enough so they can slaughter him, he can keep the gig.
As of now, the assassins are level one and get their collective asses handed to them by Kunudons. Fortunately with Koro Sensei’s training, Nagisa is able to rise up and defeat the Kunudons with his small-but-lethal fireball that wipes the little guys clean. Our lesson ends for the day…until next time.
Our Take
Alright, as long as you guys are ok with this show giving the once over on the Dragonball franchise, you should be ok. In fairness, I found the premiere to be hilarious, even if a lot of it was build-up to kind of set table for the rest of the way as to what we should expect. The Big Bad is possibly even more insane in the Chibi version of the franchise as compared to Assassination Classroom. Fans of the aforementioned franchise will be happy to know that the same English dub cast is present with Sonny Strait as the diabolical Big Bad. I’m not entirely convinced that our main bad doesn’t have some ulterior motives up his sleeve, while at the same time reminding myself that this is in fact a parody series.
SCORE
"There are also other characters that come and go (also owned by the Warner Bros. Discovery conglomerate media company)."
Huh. Is that just referring to other characters from the show itself, or is this implying that the new season is going to have cameos from other WBD IPs
