HBO Announces Start Month For Second Season of “Animals”
It’s not a lot…but it’s something.
HBO has sent out a press release noting that the second season of the network’s lone-animated series, Animals will premiere sometime in March. No specific date and time has been announced at the time of this writing.
Created by Phil Matarese & Mike Luciano and produced by Duplass Brothers Television, this animated adult comedy series focuses on the downtrodden creatures native to Earth’s least-habitable environment: New York City. Whether it’s lovelorn rats, gender-questioning pigeons or aging bedbugs in the midst of a midlife crisis, the awkward small talk, moral ambiguity and existential woes of non-human urbanites prove startlingly similar to our own.

There's got to be some kind of twist that's going to happen with this. I don't know if they're setting up an April Fool's joke now or what's going on, but it seems too strange that they'd suddenly reverse on doing a fourth and fifth season after the show was already renewed and they were even just talking about working on those seasons like a couple months ago or something. Or maybe the two episodes yet to release will secretly somehow each be like a "season" in themselves?
