Ratings Are In 12/12/16: “Family Guy” Down But Animation Strong Overall

This time ABC joins the fray in the numbers.

The ratings are in and despite an awful Sunday Night Football ending featuring by Cowboys, animation seemed to put in some good efforts on both the FOX and ABC fronts. With FOX, we got the least of original premieres of the year for Family Guy, The Simpsons, and Son of Zorn, while ABC did a Frozen deal. Check out the numbers below from Deadline.

The Simpsons (2.4/8) and Son Of Zorn(1.3/4) even with the NFL overrun night of December 4 with Family Guy (1.1/4) down 31%. 

Over on Disney-owned ABC it was almost all Frozen with the Oscar-winning blockbuster making its broadcast debut. Pulling in the net’s second-best 8 – 10 PM Sunday numbers of the season, the more-than-solid performance on the competitive night was followed by The Making Of Frozen: A Return To Arendelle(0.9/3) special.

FOX hasn’t announced its midseason schedule yet, so once they do we’ll see what we’re up against next year.
