Cartoon Network Announces Bizarre Scheduling for “Adventure Time: Islands” for TV AND DVD

Wait until you see THIS scheduling.

Cartoon Network has officially announced the premiere date and time for the Adventure Time: Islands mini-series. However, the DVD featuring the 8-part mini-series is coming out a week earlier…confused? So are we.

Adventure Time: Islands follows Finn (voiced by Jeremy Shada), Jake (John DiMaggio), BMO (Niki Yang) and Susan Strong (Jackie Buscarino) as they leave the Land of Ooo to embark on a quest of epic proportions across the ocean and into new lands – encountering new creatures, discovering new islands and using teamwork along the way.

A graphic novel and DVD will be part of the whole Adventure Time: Islands experience and the synopsis for the former is as follows and is available now in stores:

Ties into the huge Adventure Time: Islands television event, the mini-series airing on Cartoon Network this winter where Finn meets other humans and an important member of his family for the first time. Written by Islands show writer Ashly Burch, this story serves as a prequel to the television event.

No extra features of the DVD will be included, just the 8 episode mini-series for about $15 set to release on January 24th, 2017. The weirdest part?

Adventure Time: Islands won’t even premiere on Cartoon Network until January 30th @ 730 pm ET/PT, but when it does, you’ll get two episodes a night that will finish by February 2nd. That means you can actually watch the whole mini-series on DVD BEFORE it airs on TV which NEVER happens in the year 2016/17. You may get episodes that stream on apps before the TV premiere, you may even get episodes that premiere on Youtube first, but to get the ENTIRE mini-series on DVD is something I don’t really here except for MAYBE English dub anime and that’s it.

Here’s your first-look at the opening credits for the Adventure Time: Islands mini-series.
