Review: We Bare Bears “The Library”

Do you kids know what a library is?

The bears run into Chloe at the library cramming for a test but she looks like a mess and is worried as hell about the gravity of the situation. The bears offer to help and it’s hilarious. Pan Pan learns the wonders of technology in the last 15 years in an attempt to get  a practice test, Ice Bear has to battle for a book and loses, and then Grizz does his best to reenergize Chloe for the big test.

At first, everyone’s tasks end in failure, but thanks to the power of sugar they get everything done JUUUST in the nick of time. We come to find out that Chloe mixed up the days in which the exam is actually supposed to be held so we just did all of this for nothing.

Our Take

We’ve seen this premise before a dozen times, but I think the way it was presented in this week’s episode was a little too throwback for my tastes. Nowadays, libraries don’t feature tons of books with out of date technology, especially on school campuses. As a result, I’m not sure if today’s kid is gonna relate much to the episode…heck I don’t even think they get tests like this that need “cram sessions”. However, if the writers’ goal was to appeal to a slightly older audience, it worked here. Dial-up internet, shitty printers, and being up all night studying is how I used to do it…15 years ago.
